What is a custom ChatGPT app?+

A custom ChatGPT app connects a focused interface and business tools to ChatGPT. It can retrieve data, run calculations and complete actions through an MCP server instead of only generating text.

What is the difference between a ChatGPT app and a plugin?+

Plugin is still a familiar search term. The current OpenAI platform uses apps built with the Apps SDK, typically combining an MCP server with an optional web interface inside ChatGPT.

Which business processes are a good fit?+

Processes with repeatable decisions, calculations, data retrieval or structured outputs are strong candidates. We validate the workflow before recommending implementation.

Can an app connect to our internal systems?+

Yes. Subject to security and access requirements, an app can connect to existing APIs, databases and services through purpose-built tools exposed by its MCP server.
